I try to be right here, in the moment, aware of things that interest me, that I love, that I want to be involved in. People often ask me how I keep my finger on the pulse of so many things at once. It’s pretty simple. It’s also how I manage requests (for anything).
I pay close attention to my initial physical and mental reaction to things. Am I automatically energized by it? Does is make my mind sparkle? If the answer is yes, then without hesitation I commit to it (after checking my calendar, of course). If no, then I let it rest until another time. I’m not serving anyone well by saying yes to something that doesn’t. Right?
So knowing that passion is a driver, what kinds of projects has that led you to fall into? Where does the pulse take you?
Good questions! The pulse has lead me to projects that match my values as well as my business plan. I find that the more readily I show how passionate I am about being helpful and a truly valued member of the community, the more likely I’ve been to attract those that need my type help the most.
I am committed to having a charitable aspect to every project I work on. If there isn’t one already in place when I start, I ask the client what their favorite charity is, or find a good match on my own, and make it happen.
Love it! It’s one of those simple things that’s way too easy to overlook and really should be more obvious to all of us.
Lucie, I think with how quickly we are expected to react to things today, there’s hardly time to think about that which we genuinely & positively respond. It’s work, but it’s the worth it kind. Right? : )
Very good blog article. I’ll be coming back for more.
Thank you for reading Linda, I’m so pleased that you liked it.
I love this…..it’s what I always strive for in life as well…intuitive thinking/feeling and occasionally I am distracted from it and need to be reminded. Thanks for reminding me Kate! Love your new brand–CleverKate is very clever indeed. Meet soon! x
